N1 On 28 June, 2000 HSBC Investment Bank Asia Limited ("HSBA") pursuant to the
Stock Borrowing Agreement (as defined in the previous notice form) borrowed
22,500,000 shares of HK$0.10 each (the "Shares") of Excel Technology International
Holdings Limited (the "Company") from Passion Investment (BVI) Limited ("Passion"),
the 579,956,044 shares interested by Paassion is inclusive of the 22,500,000
shares so borrowed by HIBA.
On 13 July, 2000 HIBA has redelivered the said 22,500,000 shares under the name
of HKSCC Nominees Limited to Passion on 18 July 2000, the said 22,500,000 shares
have been registered in the name of Passion.
